In 1904, The New York Times moved its headquarters uptown to Broadway and 42nd Street. On the side of its new building the newspaper posted bulletins. The New York Times hired a special train to follow Glenn Curtiss on his pioneering flight from Albany to New York and scooped The New York World, which had given Curtiss a $10,000 prize for the accomplishment.
